Sometimes one conversation changes everything

Hey you,

“The amount of good things in your life depends on your ability to notice them.”

This weekend I went to a St. Patrick’s Day run with Body Art Run Club to test whether my knee and ankle were finally ready after the marathon.

I ran the mile.

No knee pain.

No ankle pain.

But the highlight of the morning was meeting a guy named Gregg. We ended up talking about life, growth and building things that help people. At one point I mentioned the Cap10K in April, and he pulled out his phone and signed up on the spot.

It was one of those conversations that reminds you how powerful simply being present, listening and connecting with people can be.

One Thing to Think About This Week

The people you meet when you simply show up can change your perspective.

Sometimes all it takes is curiosity, listening and a genuine conversation.

You never know what kind of impact a moment like that can have.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • Ran one mile pain-free for the first time since the marathon
  • Showed up to the Body Art Run Club St. Patrick’s Day run
  • Been icing my ankle every day AND my knee is feeling so great and strong

Productivity Hack of the Week

Build systems to reduce friction.

Motivation fades. Systems keep you moving.

When you create simple routines around the things that matter, whether that’s workouts, work blocks, or creative time, you remove the resistance that usually stops people from starting.

What I’m Into This Week

Podcast: HigherUp Podcast – Nick Komodina shared some gold, “I’m never where I am. I’m always complaining about where I am because I’m focusing on where we have to go next.”

Sheeeeeeh…. Right?!

App/Tech: TickTick — scheduling time blocks really helps make time for the little and big things

Video: My Austin Marathon YouTube video is live. It captures the full race experience and what it felt like to push through something that once felt impossible.

Life Snapshot

Personal Wins: Running that mile pain-free felt like a big step forward.

Family Moments: We had a warming hot tub play date as a family while Ledger and I were in the water and Mads was our personal attendant getting us drinks, towels and chasing down toys L would throw in the pool. Vibes

Life Update: The house is fighting off yet another viral bug of sorts with coughs and congestion. It’s laughable at this moment but we’re still trying to hard to focus on the positives in the sour moments.

One Last Thing

It’s easy to get so focused on the next goal that we forget to appreciate where we already are.

Pause long enough to notice the good things happening right now. (I really hope you take time to do this this week).

Fun P.S.

Working out with a toddler nearby adds a whole new level of difficulty.

Ledger’s gym routine currently includes sneaking stickers into my water, toy weights everywhere, and climbing directly onto my back mid-exercise. It’s still so fun watching him copy all my movements and want to follow along. Gosh he’s just the best!

Closing

If this week taught me anything, it’s that the best moments often come from simply showing up, being curious, and talking to people.

You never know whose life you might impact — or whose story might remind you that you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Keep showing up.

Keep asking questions.

Keep bringing your energy into the rooms you walk into.

It matters more than you think.

“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”

Hey you, This week flew by. Like… blink and it was Sunday. It was a week full of congestion, coughs, and me desperately trying not to lose my voice. Hot lemon water basically lived inside my Owala bottle all week. But even with the chaos of being slightly sick, work events and a packed schedule, there were a lot of little moments this week that reminded me what I’m really working toward. And that brings me to this month’s intention: Rhythm. Because the life I want only happens if my systems...

Hey you, I feel so grateful. This week felt like a transition week. Out of marathon mode. Out of stomach bug mode. Into healing, reflection and presence. One Thing to Think About This Week I’m 41. Ledger is almost 2. When he’s my age… I’ll be over 80. That thought doesn’t scare me. It motivates me. It makes doctor appointments feel important. It makes strength training matter. It makes healing instead of pushing through pain feel wise. I’ve been listening to Think and Grow Rich and one...

Hey you, You ever do something so big that it takes a few days for your brain to catch up? Yeah. Same. I ran a marathon on Sunday. Thirty thousand steps. Three thousand calories burned. Aggressive knee pain. Zero quitting. And somehow… it still doesn’t feel fully real. One Thing to Think About This Week It took me 41 years to believe I could run a marathon. Not because I wasn’t capable. But because I had built a ceiling over my own head. I thought marathons were for “real athletes.” For...
