Hey you, I feel so grateful. This week felt like a transition week. Out of marathon mode. Out of stomach bug mode. Into healing, reflection and presence. One Thing to Think About This Week I’m 41. Ledger is almost 2. When he’s my age… I’ll be over 80. That thought doesn’t scare me. It motivates me. It makes doctor appointments feel important. It makes strength training matter. It makes healing instead of pushing through pain feel wise. I’ve been listening to Think and Grow Rich and one message keeps repeating: focus on what you actually want, not what you’re trying to avoid. I don’t want to be injured. I don’t want to age poorly. But what I want is to be 95 and independent. Present. Strong. Clear-minded. That’s the vision.
My knee and ankle are still not 100%. I’ve had knee pain since my 18-mile run and I don’t want this becoming long-term. So I’m shifting to strength for a few weeks and letting my body fully heal. Productivity Hack of the Week The scratch-paper throwaway list. Not Notion. Not a fancy system. Just a cheap piece of paper sitting on the table. I write everything I want to get done that day or weekend. It stays visible. It stays top of mind. I cross things off aggressively. There’s something deeply satisfying about crossing off paper that hits differently than checking a digital box. Also, I listened to a Mindset Mentor episode about clearing open loops in your life. The big takeaway: energy drains faster than time. It’s not the workload that exhausts you — it’s the unfinished mental tabs open in your head. Close the loop. Book the appointment. Send the email. Decide. App: Built With Science I’m leaning into strength while my knee and ankle recover. This app combines programming, nutrition, and even an AI coach you can message. It feels thoughtful and structured, which is exactly what I need right now. Show: The Four Seasons - It explores different seasons of life and relationships and how perspectives shift over time. It’s been a powerful reminder to focus on what truly matters in the season you’re in. Podcast: Austin Marathon Recap with Zane We talked through the knee pain, the hills, the mindset, and the full experience. It’s live now and I’m really proud of the conversation.
One Last Thing Healing is not a setback. It’s strategy. If I want to be strong at 80, I have to act like it matters at 41. Take care of your body. Clear your open loops. Focus on what you actually want. You’re building a season right now that future-you will live inside. Build it well. Garage workouts with a toddler are 30% fitness and 70% chasing a tiny human who thinks battle ropes are toys. Bible verse for this week: “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12 If this resonated with you, forward it to someone who needs the reminder that slowing down and healing can be the strongest move you make. Hey you, “The amount of good things in your life depends on your ability to notice them.” This weekend I went to a St. Patrick’s Day run with Body Art Run Club to test whether my knee and ankle were finally ready after the marathon. I ran the mile. No knee pain. No ankle pain. But the highlight of the morning was meeting a guy named Gregg. We ended up talking about life, growth and building things that help people. At one point I mentioned the Cap10K in April, and he pulled out his phone and...
Hey you, This week flew by. Like… blink and it was Sunday. It was a week full of congestion, coughs, and me desperately trying not to lose my voice. Hot lemon water basically lived inside my Owala bottle all week. But even with the chaos of being slightly sick, work events and a packed schedule, there were a lot of little moments this week that reminded me what I’m really working toward. And that brings me to this month’s intention: Rhythm. Because the life I want only happens if my systems...
Hey you, You ever do something so big that it takes a few days for your brain to catch up? Yeah. Same. I ran a marathon on Sunday. Thirty thousand steps. Three thousand calories burned. Aggressive knee pain. Zero quitting. And somehow… it still doesn’t feel fully real. One Thing to Think About This Week It took me 41 years to believe I could run a marathon. Not because I wasn’t capable. But because I had built a ceiling over my own head. I thought marathons were for “real athletes.” For...
