The People Who Need You Can't Find You

Hey you,

It's April. Which, honestly, feels illegal. Didn't we just do January?

Let’s just hop right in.

One Thing to Think About This Week

This quote from Nick Komodina that I just HAD to share…

"If you have a message or a calling that you feel is needed in this world, then it is your obligation to make yourself seen. When you withdraw from your true self and your message, the people who need you can't find you."

It's about the person on the other end who is waiting for exactly what you have to say and if you stay quiet, they never find you.

I spent a chunk of this week in an AI rabbit hole rethinking content strategy. Watching how other people tell their stories. Getting overwhelmed by all the techniques. And then doing nothing.

It’s a bit annoying, ya know? But here we are.

The lesson? The strategy is fine. The system is fine. Hit record. The people who need you can't find you if you never show up.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • I went back to BFT Fitness this week and pushed myself to new limits both times
  • Got a fun run outside to lock in the mindset of the Cap10k coming up
  • I survived an epic and extremely demanding work week with forced brain breaks

Productivity Hack of the Week

Stop saying "I'll do it Tuesday" and actually put it on Tuesday.

This sounds obvious. It is not obvious. There is a massive difference between having something on your to-do list and having it time-blocked on your calendar.

This week I sat down and did a detailed look at my schedule. Not just my workouts, but every commitment. I actually slotted things into the specific windows where they fit. Not "morning." Not "afternoon." A real time. A real window.

The result? I stopped carrying mental load about when things would happen. They had a home. I just showed up.

Try it this week. Pick three things sitting on your list. Give them a time. Not a day, a time.

What I'm Into This Week

  • Phone a friend - If you don’t do it already, I encourage you to call, voice memo or at least text someone that matters to you. Have a free 10 minutes, spend it virtually with someone. It matters!
  • Book: Surrender - I'm deep in a chapter about surrendering to the life you've been called to. The idea that if you feel pulled toward something, there's a reason. Embrace it. Buckle up. Enjoy the ride.
  • Landman - Madison and I have been watching it in the evenings and it's so good. We've been doubling it as a work night at times, her on one thing, me in my content stuff. Dual purpose evenings are underrated.

Life Snapshot

  • Personal Wins: Limited ankle pain after my runs and strength sessions. Yussss. Also, no knee pain!
  • Family Moments: Mads and I watching Landman together has been so fun. The show itself really focuses on the awareness of your thoughts and feelings and how they impact others. Also to focus on what really matters more than just work
  • Real-Life Relatability: I waited until last minute to renew my plates. I learned that after your vehicle inspection you can renew them at the HEB grocery store. I showed up 30 minutes before they opened (on accident) just to not have the right paperwork. Cool cool cool. (Renewed online instead)

One Last Thing

“Life gets harder, not worse.” The bodybuilder gets a slap on the back when the weight gets heavier. It’s not, oh these weights are heavier, things got worse. Instead, that’s the signal that you’re ready for more. Whatever feels heavy right now, that’s your slap on the back.

Fun P.S.

Neighborhood Easter egg hunt was this weekend and it was so good. The rain held off just long enough. Ledger hunted eggs, we hit a foam party, and all the families hung out. And then the sky opened up and every single person sprinted to their golf cart or car at the exact same moment.

Ledger was hesitant about the amount of foam but still had a blast on the edge of the chaos.

If you want to follow along in real time, I'm sharing more of the day-to-day on Instagram. And if someone in your life needs a little push this week, forward this their way.

Let's just enjoy this.

Hey you… It’s Sunday. And before you map out the week ahead, I just want you to sit in this one for a second. Because this was a good week. Like… a really good week. Even when it didn’t feel like it. Let’s get into it. One Thing to Think About This Week Jim Rohn asked a question this week. What has you turned on right now? What has you turned off? He said without a strong enough why, your how just gets bigger. Heavier. More complicated. You think you want the million dollar home… but do you?...

Hey you, For two weeks I did everything right. Hit the gym six days. Protein every meal. Water like it was my job. And the scale gave me a grand total of… 1.3 pounds. If I’d only had the scale, I would’ve quietly assumed nothing was happening. Maybe even quit being so strict about it. Then I got the data. And the data told a completely different story. Let’s get into it. One Thing to Think About This Week The thing that’s been rattling around my brain: the proof is almost never where you’re...

Hey you, Okay, I don’t even know where to start this week. It was one of those weeks that looked normal on the outside… gym, work, kid bedtimes, all the things but on the inside, something shifted. I went to an event I almost talked myself out of going to and I came home with pages of notes and a few thoughts I haven’t been able to shake. Let’s get into it. One Thing to Think About This Week “Time is flying. You have to pay attention or you’ll miss it.” I keep saying it out loud hoping it’ll...
