You're in the good times right now

Hey you…

It’s Sunday. And before you map out the week ahead, I just want you to sit in this one for a second.

Because this was a good week. Like… a really good week. Even when it didn’t feel like it.

Let’s get into it.

One Thing to Think About This Week

Jim Rohn asked a question this week.

What has you turned on right now? What has you turned off?

He said without a strong enough why, your how just gets bigger. Heavier. More complicated. You think you want the million dollar home… but do you? Or do you want what you think it represents?

Purpose is stronger than the object. Know your why before the how gets heavy.

Whatever goal you’re chasing right now… go one layer deeper. The thing you think you want might just be pointing at something bigger.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • Tuesday I had an IUD insertion. If you’ve had one, you know. If you haven’t… just know it’s a lot. The pain was real, I drove myself home, and I was wiped. Wednesday evening? I was at BFT for my workout. And then I ran straight to Body Art Run Club for Global Running Day and ran 3 miles. I almost talked myself out of going. And I didn’t. That’s the win.
  • Chest fly PR. I went from 10s to 20s over these last several weeks. The scale is doing whatever it wants right now but my body is getting stronger. Week over week. That matters.
  • We renovated the home garage.... finally. Things always look better when Madison gets involved. She has a way of making the vision a reality. I just...... have stuff in places and it's always a hot mess.

Productivity Hack of the Week

I connected Claude to Instacart this week and it genuinely changed my meal planning game.

I talked through my recipe ideas for the week, told it what I already had on hand, and it added everything I still needed straight to my HEB cart. Done.

The hack isn’t really the AI. It’s this: the less friction between planning and doing, the more likely you are to actually follow through. Whatever removes that gap for you… use it. Guilt free.

What I’m Into This Week

Video: A Jim Rohn clip on purpose vs. object that I’ve had on repeat. The question “what has you turned on right now?” deserves a real answer. Sit with it.

App: Claude + Instacart for meal planning. Legitimately baller. I said what I said.

Drink: Brez Elevate from Sprouts. I’ve been getting it since the first time I tried it and every single time I drink it I feel happy and gitty. Is it the ingredients? Is it a placebo? Genuinely unsure. Does not matter. Two packs in the cart every time.

Life Snapshot

Personal Wins: 5 workouts at BFT and a full day of home gym renovation that wrecked my body in the best way. Body scan is coming up this weekend and I’m genuinely excited to see what the numbers say.

Family Moments: Madison and I have been married for 6 years. Six. And I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. We celebrated at The Playground as a family. Also Ledger has a sticker board now and earned two gold stars in one night for brushing his teeth without a fuss and going into his crib after two books. Certified good boy. Here's a video I took to recap our journey!

Real-Life Relatability: Sleep-deprived Friday morning. Ledger was up with a toothache half the night, Madison was up from 4am to 7am, and I fed the dogs and forgot to disarm the alarm. Siren going off. Alarm company blowing up my phone. Me… completely blanking on the passcode I set months ago. Full panic mode. I finally just stopped, took a breath, focused… and got it. Five minutes before they called 911 on my behalf. Reminder to self: know your passwords.

One Last Thing

Purpose is stronger than the object. Know your why before the how gets heavy.

Proverbs 16:9 says a person plans their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

You can have the plan. You should have the plan. But stay loose on the how. Stay grounded in the why. The steps will be established. Trust that.

Fun P.S.

Wednesday was global running day. Even though I was crampy from my procedure on Tuesday, AND I wanted to get a BFT workout in, I still made it to the run club. As I walk from my car to the event, I walk next to a girl named Janet… or Janise. She says, “Are we really gonna do this?…. in the rain?” I guess so. Right when we get to the event, it starts to downpour. You see all the booth setups of local businesses grabbing their products and saving everything they can. All that hard work, soaked. The run stopped right before the run began and stayed away the rest of the event. It was a great time and I got to sample some amazing products and meet so many people chasing dreams. So inspiring.

See you next Sunday. You’re already in the good times. Don’t miss them.

Hey you, For two weeks I did everything right. Hit the gym six days. Protein every meal. Water like it was my job. And the scale gave me a grand total of… 1.3 pounds. If I’d only had the scale, I would’ve quietly assumed nothing was happening. Maybe even quit being so strict about it. Then I got the data. And the data told a completely different story. Let’s get into it. One Thing to Think About This Week The thing that’s been rattling around my brain: the proof is almost never where you’re...

Hey you, Okay, I don’t even know where to start this week. It was one of those weeks that looked normal on the outside… gym, work, kid bedtimes, all the things but on the inside, something shifted. I went to an event I almost talked myself out of going to and I came home with pages of notes and a few thoughts I haven’t been able to shake. Let’s get into it. One Thing to Think About This Week “Time is flying. You have to pay attention or you’ll miss it.” I keep saying it out loud hoping it’ll...

Hey you, For months, I kept seeing fun things online, like events, classes, experiences and my first instinct was always to find someone to go with. And every single time, it was either too far or the schedules just wouldn’t line up. So I wouldn’t go. And I kept not going. Over and over. Meanwhile, my job mentioned a gym nearby. Nine minutes from me. Classes every day, 14 class formats so you never know what you’re walking into, but multiple class times each day with availability that...
