Cold Weather, Big Miles, Steady Minds

Hey you,

I’m writing this one from a week that asked for a little extra preparation, a little more patience and a lot of mental uhh flexibility. The kind of week where you don’t force productivity, but you support yourself through it.

Let’s get into it.

One Thing to Think About This Week

Preparation isn’t fear. It’s care.

This week reminded me that being prepared doesn’t mean you’re panicking, it means you’re paying attention. Whether it’s researching generators (cuz we did that), worrying about power outages with a toddler in the house, or adjusting plans because the weather (and your body) say “not today,” preparation is an act of love.

We can’t control the storm.

But we can control how thoughtfully we respond to it.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • I paused instead of pushing when my knee and Achilles asked for attention.
  • I listened to my body and my long-term goal instead of just my ego
  • Madison and I finished a show together and had one of those “wait…WHAT?!” endings.
  • I blocked time, adjusted plans, and gave myself permission to pivot when needed in order to meet my goals

Productivity Hack of the Week

Block time for the thing that matters most, before life blocks it for you.

This week I rearranged my workday to fit a 20-mile run before weather chaos hit. My marathon training is that important to me and i’m trying so hard to get there without serious injury.

Even if the plan changes, the habit of intentionally protecting time is the real win.

Ask yourself:

“If I don’t block this time, what will take its place?”

Spoiler: it’s usually meetings, stress, or exhaustion (or a combo of all 3, let’s be real).

What I’m Into This Week

  • [Mindset / Growth](http://timetorisesummit.com/): Tony Robbins is hosting a free multi-day event focused on life direction, goals, and clarity. If you’re feeling a little foggy about what you want or how to move forward—this is a solid reset.
  • [Tech / Tools](https://gps-coach.vercel.app/): Ali Abdaal built a custom goal-setting GPT that asks really good follow-up questions. I used it for my YouTube goals, and it helped me confront my excuses, clarify my why, and define accountability in a real way.
  • TV Show: If you’re looking for a crazy show you do the whole “one more episode” before bed, give His & Hers a try on Netflix.

Tools give you information.

Accountability gives you momentum.

Life Snapshot

  • Cold weather prep mode is officially activated
  • Pools + freezing temps = unnecessary stress. Like waking up at 1:30am to make sure the pool isnt’ frozen.
  • My mom is in town, and we slowed everything down. Instead of cool sites and fun outdoor adventures, it was puzzles and cozy meals at home while trying to all stay sane.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is stay in, stay close and stay present. Or, make a drink, forget about calories and enjoy your people.

One Last Thing

Accountability works, especially when it’s shared.

Posting my 18-mile run before I did it is the reason I finished it. 100%. People cheering me on mattered more than I expected. It reminded me that being seen can be a support system, not pressure.

That’s something I want to carry into other areas of my life, especially YouTube, creativity and community building.

More intention.

More focus.

Less scatterbrain.

And way more follow-through. :) I got this.

Fun P.S.

I went to the store to look at generators and saw about 8 up front. While i’m texting Madison the whole “should we really buy this? It’s so expensive.” convo, there were two other dudes on their phones talking to someone (probs their significant others) having the exact same convo. So we ALL decided to grab a cart and buy one.

As a guy in front of me struggled to get his on his cart, I asked him how hard it was. “Harder than I thought”, said Jared. His name was Jared. So as I’m grabbing mine, I assumed he’d offer to help but he didn’t. Do you boo boo….

As I’m leaving the store, he’s waiting for me at the front. He says, “How confident are you that you can get this into your car?”. Well hey, Jared. Want to tag team? So we did. We loaded his car with his, then loaded my car with mine. Wished each other well and good luck and went on our marry way.

Such a cool experience.

p.p.s. We didn’t end up needing the generator (yet). Thank the good Lord.

Closing

If you’re in an area affected by this storm or know someone in the crossfire, check in on your people.

Neighbors. Friends. Family.

Sometimes the smallest “you good?” makes the biggest difference 🤍

Thanks for being here and letting me share the messy middle, not just the highlight reel. If this newsletter grounded you even a little, pass it along to someone who could use a steady moment this week.

Hey you, “The amount of good things in your life depends on your ability to notice them.” This weekend I went to a St. Patrick’s Day run with Body Art Run Club to test whether my knee and ankle were finally ready after the marathon. I ran the mile. No knee pain. No ankle pain. But the highlight of the morning was meeting a guy named Gregg. We ended up talking about life, growth and building things that help people. At one point I mentioned the Cap10K in April, and he pulled out his phone and...

Hey you, This week flew by. Like… blink and it was Sunday. It was a week full of congestion, coughs, and me desperately trying not to lose my voice. Hot lemon water basically lived inside my Owala bottle all week. But even with the chaos of being slightly sick, work events and a packed schedule, there were a lot of little moments this week that reminded me what I’m really working toward. And that brings me to this month’s intention: Rhythm. Because the life I want only happens if my systems...

Hey you, I feel so grateful. This week felt like a transition week. Out of marathon mode. Out of stomach bug mode. Into healing, reflection and presence. One Thing to Think About This Week I’m 41. Ledger is almost 2. When he’s my age… I’ll be over 80. That thought doesn’t scare me. It motivates me. It makes doctor appointments feel important. It makes strength training matter. It makes healing instead of pushing through pain feel wise. I’ve been listening to Think and Grow Rich and one...
