If Today Was It… Would You Be Proud?

Hey you,

This week marks one full year of this newsletter.

One year of showing up. One year of writing. One year of not missing a single post (even when life was going bananas, messy, exhausting or insane).

This week especially had me zooming way out, on life, on time, on fear, on what actually matters. So let’s reset together.

One Thing to Think About This Week

I listened to a video this week that asked an important question:

If you were going to die today or tomorrow… would you still be worried about the things you’re worried about right now?

That question… is deep.

Because so many of the things that hold us back (posting, starting, trying, saying yes, saying no), are rooted in fear of other people’s reactions. And when you zoom all the way out, that fear feels… small. Wild right?

I’ve seen people lose their health.

I’ve seen people lose their mobility.…. Their legs (literally)

I’ve seen people lose their lives far earlier than expected.

And it reminds me: nothing is guaranteed, not even time.

That doesn’t mean panic.

It means presence.

It means using the body you have while you have it.

It means doing the things that matter to you now, not someday.

Celebrate Your Wins

  • One full year of writing this newsletter without missing a week 🥹
  • I stayed consistent with movement, even while managing knee issues and marathon taper stress
  • I showed up for connection: vendors, friends, bike rides, food truck hangs, family time

Productivity Hack of the Week

I switched back to a clear, quick-swig water bottle for now. no straw, easy flow, visible progress.

Sounds silly. It’s not.

If I can see how much water I’ve had, I drink more.

Friction removed = habit restored.

Small system changes > willpower every time.

What I’m Into This Week

  • Journal Setup: Currently my favorite Journal Setup (Plus a deep dive into January)
  • Music: “Good Day” is officially back on my morning reminders. Starting the day by telling myself it’s going to be a good one changes everything
  • Inspiration: Watching Austin Marathon videos while training. Visualizing yourself in the environment you’re about to step into is powerful (Linking my page so you can watch my Marathon video soon... :) )

Life Snapshot

  • Ledger loving daycare drop-offs, food truck pancakes, and seeing the world from the car window
  • Bike riding 10 miles around Lady Bird Lake with Jay followed by amazing Burgers at Pool Burger
  • Mads hosting a Galentine’s vibes, mini canvases, favorite things and community energy
  • Friends meeting up with dogs, coffee and short hangs that still fill the cup
  • Seven days out from the marathon… equal parts excitement, nerves, trust and respect for my body. Internally i’m like, “ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHH!”

One Last Thing

Consistency isn’t loud.

It’s quiet, repetitive and often boring (queue your hype song…. If you don’t have one, find one. Save it somewhere easy to find)

But one year of small, intentional actions stacks into something meaningful.

I don’t know what my body will look like forever.

I don’t know how much time any of us get.

What I do know is this:

I want to keep choosing growth, presence, movement, and honesty… while I can.

I’ll keep climbing.

I hope you do too.

Fun P.S.

Ledger helped me put together a push/pull Sled in the garage and was the first one to test it out. Surprisingly, but also not surprisingly, he was able to push and pull the sled by himself with zero instruction. Pulling the Sled by the ropes, falling onto the dog bed but continuing to pull the sled was actually wild. That's my boy!

Closing

Thanks for being here. For reading my words. For letting this space exist.

If this newsletter resonated with you, forward it to someone who needs a reminder to use the time they have.

Here’s to one year in… and many more resets ahead.

Hey you, “The amount of good things in your life depends on your ability to notice them.” This weekend I went to a St. Patrick’s Day run with Body Art Run Club to test whether my knee and ankle were finally ready after the marathon. I ran the mile. No knee pain. No ankle pain. But the highlight of the morning was meeting a guy named Gregg. We ended up talking about life, growth and building things that help people. At one point I mentioned the Cap10K in April, and he pulled out his phone and...

Hey you, This week flew by. Like… blink and it was Sunday. It was a week full of congestion, coughs, and me desperately trying not to lose my voice. Hot lemon water basically lived inside my Owala bottle all week. But even with the chaos of being slightly sick, work events and a packed schedule, there were a lot of little moments this week that reminded me what I’m really working toward. And that brings me to this month’s intention: Rhythm. Because the life I want only happens if my systems...

Hey you, I feel so grateful. This week felt like a transition week. Out of marathon mode. Out of stomach bug mode. Into healing, reflection and presence. One Thing to Think About This Week I’m 41. Ledger is almost 2. When he’s my age… I’ll be over 80. That thought doesn’t scare me. It motivates me. It makes doctor appointments feel important. It makes strength training matter. It makes healing instead of pushing through pain feel wise. I’ve been listening to Think and Grow Rich and one...
