Hey you, Today I ran my toddler straight into a sprinkler to get a small army of ants off both of us while he laughed like it was a game. , That’s a pretty perfect metaphor for this whole week. Chaotic, a little painful, and somehow we both came out fine. Two weeks left in this challenge. Rough sleep, a hard night with our guy, a brain that would not shut up at 1am… and I’m still here, still showing up, still learning more about the process than I ever have about the outcome. One Thing to Think About This WeekMark Manson and James Clear said something along the lines of, wanting a result without wanting the actual process behind it is a guaranteed way to end up disappointed. If you don’t want the lifestyle a goal actually requires, that’s your permission to let the goal go. That’s not quitting. That’s just being honest with yourself. So much of what we chase, we don’t actually want the during of. We just want the after picture. And the during is the whole thing. Celebrate Your Wins
Productivity Hack of the WeekMy brain loves throwing a party in the middle of the night if L wakes up. Content ideas, to-do lists, low key anxiety, all uninvited. This week I popped in my sleepy time earbud and let my nightly playlist talk me back down instead of laying there spiraling. Worked like a charm. Also canceled a chunk of meetings just to protect the parts of my brain that needed quiet. Highly recommend saying no to your own calendar sometimes. What I’m Into This WeekPodcast: Alex Hormozi on Chris Williamson’s podcast. If you only have room for one thing this week, make it this one. Dense in the best way. Nutrition: If you’re looking for a super in depth macro tracker, give Macro Factor a try. Audio: Sharing my sleep playlist. I use this every single night with sleepy earbuds. It helps me fall asleep in just a few minutes Life SnapshotPersonal Wins: Felt like myself again this week. Some weeks it’s not about crushing it, it’s about not quitting. This was one of those weeks and I didn’t quit. Family Moments: Ledger and I were pushing down a sprinkler head today when hundreds of ants swarmed us out of nowhere. His whole foot was covered, looked like dirt until you realized it was moving. I grabbed him, tried brushing them off, realized there were too many, and just ran us both straight into the sprinkler. He thought it was the funniest game ever invented and was cracking up the whole time while I was frantically getting ants off both of us and getting bitten in the process. Sprinted to the garage for a towel, got him inside, soapy bath, itch cream, done. Poor guy was an absolute champ through the whole thing. Real-Life Relatability: This week leaned harder on Madison than usual. Early mornings, late nights, more than her share of it, especially after a rough night with Ledger. Not every night goes smoothly and not every instinct in the moment is the right one. We’re all just figuring it out in real time. So grateful that we’re tackling these things together. Even if Ledger refuses to let me put him down most nights recently. One Last ThingTwo weeks left in this challenge. Heading into them with one focus: dial back into the habits that were already working before I overcomplicated everything. Less noise. More why. Galatians 6:9 - “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” That’s the whole thing right there. Fun P.S.Ledger experienced his very first firework this week. Lit it. Watched it. Turned around. Ran. Yelled “no mas”. He ran so far. Haha. Five minutes later he was doing a full sparkler dance like nothing happened. He also let us continue lighting off fireworks as long as they didn’t make loud noises. Baby steps. ClosingTwo weeks left in the 90 day challenge and I had a real conversation with my coach this week about scan data versus what my home scale says. The numbers have honestly been confusing me lately, and it made me question what I actually trust. His answer: use whatever data helps you, ignore what doesn’t, keep adjusting. So that’s the last two weeks. Less obsessing over one number, more trusting the process. Strict pull ups are back. Nutrition has been dialed in. I’m done chasing the scale. I’m just doing the work and letting the results be whatever they’re going to be. ClosingAlex Hormozi said something this week I can’t stop thinking about. You can get genuinely competent at almost anything in about 20 focused hours. Most people just spend a decade avoiding the first 20. Twenty hours. That’s basically 3 full days for me. And now all I want is to actually take those 3 days off work, go somewhere quiet, and lock in on something that could genuinely change things for me and my family. Not another to-do list item. An actual swing at something that matters. I don’t know exactly what that looks like yet. But I’m not letting the idea go. Let’s just enjoy this. Have a wonderful week. -Trina Follow along on my Youtube journey for fun and creative ways to continue to grow into the person you know you have inside of you. Miss a post? Working parent. Marathon finisher. Systems builder.I document what it actually looks like to close the gap between the life you keep picturing and the one you're living.
Hey you, Some weeks you do it all. This wasn’t one of those weeks. Daycare was closed, work stayed busy, and we packed up and drove to Oklahoma City to see family. Somewhere in there, content just had to wait. I used to feel guilty about weeks like this. This time I didn’t. I’m okay with that, and I think you should be too when your weeks look like this. One Thing to Think About This Week I watched a TEDx talk this week that was tooooo damn good. Dr. Kim Foster talked about why change doesn’t...
Hey you, I turned 42 this week, and somewhere between the candles and the math of “if I live to 100, that’s 42% done,” I had a whole moment. More on that below. One Thing to Think About This Week 42 years old. If I live to be 100, that’s 42% complete. Scary to think about… but honestly? Motivating too. It made me realize how easy it is to coast on “I’ll get to it eventually.” Mobility work. Gratefulness. Flossing your damn teeth. The tiny stuff that feels optional until you’re 80 wishing...
Hey you, This week I finally named the thing quietly sabotaging me since the marathon, and it wasn’t motivation. It was research. Turns out you can “plan” your way into being completely stuck. One Thing to Think About This Week I was talking to a friend about my YouTube rut and the recent realization that I’ve been taking in so much creator advice… all of it good, all of it well-intentioned, and it kept me stuck instead of setting me free. I gave him an example. Told him about a creator who...
