Hey you… Week 8 is done. It was one of those weeks that looked a little chaotic from the outside but felt really grounding on the inside. Three days off, a garage transformation, a body scan that made me do a little happy dance, and a toddler whose lawnmower broke mid-session and completely lost it. Real life is so good. Let’s get into it. One Thing to Think About This WeekStop the leak before you fill the bucket. A quote showed up in my feed this week and I couldn’t stop thinking about it: stopping your worst habit will change your life faster than starting your best habit. The reason? You can’t fill a bucket that’s still leaking. I’ve been guilty of piling on new habits… nightly journaling, sauna sessions, gratitude reps, etc while still letting the stuff that drains me slide by unchecked. Bad sleep nights I don’t protect. Caffeine after noon that likely helped wreck my HRV. This week reminded me: before I add another protocol, I need to plug the holes. What’s the leak you keep ignoring? Celebrate Your Wins
Productivity Hack of the WeekLet your data tell you when to rest. I woke up Tuesday with a 49% body battery on my Garmin and an HRV score that had crashed. The class on the menu was HIIT at 6:15am. My instinct was to go anyway. But I looked at the numbers and listened. I laid back down. I iced the ankle. I gave my body the day. The hack isn’t the Garmin. The hack is actually trusting the data once you have it. Most of us collect information and then override it with ego. This week I didn’t, and I came back Wednesday and nearly PR’d a leg day (silver medal, almost vomited, 10/10). Track something. Then actually listen to what it’s telling you. What I’m Into This WeekVideo: I stumbled on a yoga breathwork session specifically designed to increase energy - not the slow, restorative kind. The intense kind. This YouTube video isn’t what you’d think. App: Defer App - The quickest easiest way to throw in a task without the clutter of a pimped out app Podcast: Rob Dial - Relax and Manifest Everything You Desire. normalize the future you want so you can stop chasing it, start aligning with it, and finally create the life you know you’re meant for. Life SnapshotPersonal Wins: Taking 3 days off of work for a mental reset while physically working on some home tasks that continued to pile up. Am I all caught up? Absolutely not, but I’m grateful for the mental break Family Moments: Ledger takes mowing alongside me very seriously. So when his toy mower broke mid-session this week? Big feelings. Full meltdown. All hands on deck, dealing with the grief of a broken lawnmower, and finding a replacement online before the day was done. We are raising a committed lawn professional. Real-Life Relatability: Trying to stay healthy while doing small family adventures around town. Two nights of broken sleep. I’m on day 56 of a 90-day challenge and it was not a clean week by the numbers. But I still stayed mindful of my intentions, hit five gym sessions, and showed up. Consistency doesn’t mean perfect. It means you keep going even when the week looks like that. One Last ThingRest is not the opposite of progress. Sometimes it is the progress. I almost skipped the Garmin data on Tuesday. I almost talked myself into going to that 6am HIIT class on a 49% body battery because I didn’t want to “fall behind.” But the most advanced athletes in the world treat recovery as training. Recovery is where the adaptation happens. The workout broke the muscle down. The rest is where it comes back stronger. This week’s mantra: I am not falling behind. I am recovering forward. Fun P.S.The garage gym is truly coming together and i’m super excited to continue to work on it and make it a place we all want to be. I got the ice bath up and running again. Madison and her friends hopped in it after their garage workout session and Ledger full on had FOMO. He wanted in the ice bath. So I plopped him in really quick to see what he’d do. He loved it… after the initial gasp and made me plop him in again. It took some bargaining to get him into the actual pool because he just wanted in the ice bath again. This guy… Closing“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13 Thanks for being here every Sunday. Working parent. Marathon finisher. Systems builder.I document what it actually looks like to close the gap between the life you keep picturing and the one you're living.
Hey you… It’s Sunday. And before you map out the week ahead, I just want you to sit in this one for a second. Because this was a good week. Like… a really good week. Even when it didn’t feel like it. Let’s get into it. One Thing to Think About This Week Jim Rohn asked a question this week. What has you turned on right now? What has you turned off? He said without a strong enough why, your how just gets bigger. Heavier. More complicated. You think you want the million dollar home… but do you?...
Hey you, For two weeks I did everything right. Hit the gym six days. Protein every meal. Water like it was my job. And the scale gave me a grand total of… 1.3 pounds. If I’d only had the scale, I would’ve quietly assumed nothing was happening. Maybe even quit being so strict about it. Then I got the data. And the data told a completely different story. Let’s get into it. One Thing to Think About This Week The thing that’s been rattling around my brain: the proof is almost never where you’re...
Hey you, Okay, I don’t even know where to start this week. It was one of those weeks that looked normal on the outside… gym, work, kid bedtimes, all the things but on the inside, something shifted. I went to an event I almost talked myself out of going to and I came home with pages of notes and a few thoughts I haven’t been able to shake. Let’s get into it. One Thing to Think About This Week “Time is flying. You have to pay attention or you’ll miss it.” I keep saying it out loud hoping it’ll...
